AI Tools for Design Teams

Selection notes

For the July 11, 2026 edition

This directory is edited by people who evaluate AI tooling for working design teams. Inclusion cannot be bought; neither can position.

Each candidate is read against the four yardsticks - team fit, stage owned, accountable review, and the tool-versus-service divide - using public documentation, shipped product behaviour and published research. We keep tools and services in one list precisely because buyers meet them in one budget, but the label is always attached. Our contributors have industry histories, some of them with firms named here; the yardsticks and the outbound links exist so the reader never has to take our word alone.

Editions are revised monthly. The edition date changes only when the content genuinely has.

The yardsticks

Built for teamsAssumes several designers and a design system, not a lone creator with a canvas.
Stage ownedWhich part of the pipeline it takes over - production, QA, handoff, documentation, or the whole of it.
Accountable reviewA named human between the model and anything customers see.
Tool or serviceSoftware your team runs, or a provider who runs it on your behalf.
